Mont Vélan Cheese Fondue – Ready-Made Swiss Cheese Fondue (425 Gram)
Fancy cheese fondue but don't have time to grate cheese and measure out wine? With the Mont Vélan Cheese Fondue, you can serve a traditional Swiss cheese fondue in no time. This ready-made fondue is made with cheese from the Swiss-Italian Alps and white wine. One 425-gram bag is enough for 2 to 3 people.
What is Mont Vélan Cheese Fondue?
Mont Vélan is a mountain peak in the Swiss Alps, on the border with Italy. The cheese for this fondue comes from that region. Semi-hard and hard thermized cow's milk cheese is combined with white wine, cornflour and lemon juice to create a creamy fondue. The result is a classic Swiss fondue with a full, slightly spicy flavour, without any E-numbers.
Flavour: full, spicy and creamy
The combination of semi-hard and hard mountain cheese gives this fondue a full, slightly aged flavour with a spicy undertone. The white wine adds freshness and the cornflour creates a smooth, creamy texture that clings beautifully to your bread.
How to prepare the cheese fondue
- Empty the contents of the bag into a fondue pot.
- Heat the fondue over low heat and stir until the cheese has melted and is smooth and creamy. Do not boil the fondue.
- Place the pot on the burner and keep the fondue warm while dipping.
Follow the instructions on the packaging for the exact cooking time.
What to serve with cheese fondue?
- Cubes of baguette or ciabatta
- Raw vegetables, such as carrots, peppers, broccoli and cauliflower
- Boiled baby potatoes
- Apple or pear slices
- Meatballs or pieces of chicken
- Gherkins and silver onions

Frequently Asked Questions
How much cheese do I need per person?
For drinks or as a starter, allow about 50 to 75 grams of cheese per person. If the cheese board is the main course, allow around 150 to 200 grams per person. Combine different types, such as a soft, a firm, and a distinctive cheese, for a varied board.
How do I store the cheese best?
Refrigerate the cheese immediately upon receipt, preferably in the vegetable drawer, where it is slightly less cold. As long as the vacuum packaging remains sealed, the cheese will keep until the date on the packaging. After opening, it is best to store it in cheese paper or a cheese box, so that it can breathe and does not dry out.
How do I serve cheese at its best?
Take the cheese out of the refrigerator about 30 to 60 minutes before serving. Its flavor and aroma are fully appreciated at room temperature. Only cut what you need; the rest will stay fresh longer this way.
Can I send cheese as a gift?
Certainly! Cheese is a delicious gift for any occasion. You can add a card with a personal message to the shopping cart (€1.95), so the recipient knows right away who it is from.
